About Ravensdale Wines

Western Australia produces only 6% of the total Australian wine production but produces over 30% of the premium or quality wines produced in Australia.

These facts were not the only deciding factor for the birth of Ravensdale Wines; the directors had travelled extensively around Australia tasting different wines but the wines they had discovered in the west of this vast country always appeared head and shoulders above wines from other regions.
Many of the wines sold in the UK come from Eastern Australia and some are mass produced leaving a lot to be desired.
Ravensdale wines believe if you taste Western Australian wines you will fall in love with the red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir from the beautiful Margaret River area with their ripe tannins, moderate levels of sugar and fine, ripe fruit flavours.

The neighbouring region, Geographe, delivers some of the finest white wines such as Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc that you have ever tasted.

Further south you have Mount Barker and Denmark regions which had one of the best vintages in 2004 for 8 years due to long, dry and warm ripening conditions, this has given us great Rieslings, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignons: wines to die for.

Ravensdale Wines specialise in these regions of Western Australia, getting to know the families who own the vineyards tasting the fruit, the wine in various stages of production and selecting the wines to import into the UK.
Australia is approximately the size of the whole of Europe and to be able to maintain this personal approach and provide the best wines for their UK clients, Ravensdale wines made the decision to concentrate on Western Australia and maintain the link between the vineyard and the UK wine drinker and they felt including other areas outside Western Australia would break this personal link.
Most of the wines are from small family run vineyards which still have the passion for their product and win medals on a regular basis for their fine wines.

James Halliday, Australia’s most respected wine writer has high praise for many of the wines stocked by Ravensdale wines as has Western Australia’s top wine journalist Ray Jordan.

Decanter and Wine magazines have also joined in the praise, highly recommending some of the wines.
